  • Bengal qualified for the supreme honor of a Registry of Merit Excellent (ROMX) title in 2012. This ROMX was awarded on April 27, 2013 at the American Whippet Club National Banquet in Eugene, OR. To the best of our knowledge, it has been over 30 years since this title has been earned by a dog based solely on performance-titled champions, with the last dog to do so being Van Oorschot's Toro.
  • Became the Lifetime #1 NOTRA National Championship points-earner in 2002, having earned 210 NORC points in his lifetime and held that record until June, 2013.
  • #1 NOTRA National Champion for 2000 & 2001 and earned 73.5 WRCHX points during his career.
  • Shown sparingly in Conformation, Bengal was Reserve Winner's Dog at the 2005 Canadian National Specialty under Judge Iva Kimmelman (Merci Isle), earning wins in the Open Dog and Stud Dog classes and taking Best Opposite Sex in Working Dog and Veteran Dog classes. It was a thrill to see his daughter, Clearhounds Lolita, take Winner's Bitch and Best of Winners. Lolita was also Best in Specialty Sweepstakes and her littermate, Clearhounds Lager at Evensong was Best Opposite Sex in Specialty under Judge Linda Garwacki (Bitterblue) that same day.
  • Enjoyed the opportunity to lure course as a Veteran and to help qualify his grandpups for competition.
  • Bengal's performance career spanned over a decade. He was a robust performance dog, avoiding any serious injuries during his career.
  • Bengal sired numerous exciting litters out of race, show, and lure coursing bred bitches:
  • Born of that rarest of blends, with a sire who was a show & racing champion and a dam who was a dual-supreme racer, Bengal inherited a legacy of good looks, soundness, speed, intensity and gentle temperament.
  • Bengal was featured in "The Whippet" by Bo Bengtson
  • Read more about him here: A Whippet West Side Story
  • Bengal tested clear of the Myostatin Deficiency mutation (N/N), CERF normal, OFA hips, and vWD normal.
  • Health records available through The Whippet Health Foundation Database

  • Semen banked with Dr. Melissa Goodman, DVM - Canine Reproduction Specialist
